We Ran a Half-Marathon for Charity and Raised £2,076!
We came and we conquered! Yesterday, as a team, we ran the Milton Keynes Half-Marathon to raise money for the amazing charity, Railway Children!
Last year we felt it was time to start giving back so we looked for a charity that inspired us. We first became aware and inspired by the work of Railway Children after Oscar nominated Lion hit the screens and told the story of Saroo, a lost railway child in India and his long journey home.

We reached out to the charity and realised we wanted to contribute what we could to help make their vision – a world where no child ever has to live on the streets – a reality. We chose the Milton Keynes Half-Marathon as our fundraising activity and after a false start with the bad weather, we finally ran it on Sunday.

Overall, it was a great experience and it was definitely worth the aching legs today. Before we started the team had varying levels of running experience from experienced pro to the ‘I’ve never ran a day in my life’ crew but we all did it! Check out the SRK Team League Board below:

The best part though is how much we have raised – an amazing £2,076 (without gift aid)! Thank you to everyone that donated, it means a lot to us and even more to the charity and the children they help.
However, It isn’t too late to donate! Please donate what you can.
