Are you really a CEO Founder?

Are you a true CEO, or just an employee who’s more hours now than you did when you had a payroll job working for someone else?

Wasn’t the whole  idea to have freedom, make an impact, and be rich?

How to transition from operator to owner

I see a lot of really amazing business owners get stuck because they don’t really know how to make the move from operator to business owner.

They tell themselves:

  • “I love the work so I’m happy to work 60 hours a week”
  • “Gary Vee says I need to sleep 4 hours so that’s what I’ll do”
  • “If my mental health and physical health suffer then it shows I’m working hard”

But what ends up happening is they are constantly in the weeds.

They can’t think clearly, they get bogged down in the everyday stuff, they lose their creativity and vision.

Have you ever wondered why your best ideas for business growth come when you’re on holiday, watching TV, or in the shower?

It’s because you're not preoccupied with never ending task lists.

How the most successful CEOs think

It might sound counterintuitive, but the most successful business people block out time just for thinking. It’s how they can lead with vision and clarity.

What a CEO’s role is (and what it’s not!)

A good CEO is responsible for strategy, vision, leadership and making decisions. Maybe sales and creating content.

A CEO is not responsible for:

  • Paying bills
  • Onboarding
  • Offboarding
  • Management
  • Client work
  • Bookkeeping
  • Chasing payments
  • And so on….
How to get off the treadmill and step into the CEO role

If you’re stuck in the daily details, it might feel impossible to step away and get into the clouds - where you deserve to be.

Start by creating a task-switch G Sheet.

List each task, how long you spent on it, what area of the business it was in, what level task it is (high/medium/low) and if you really should be doing it or not.

At the end of the week you’ll have a big list of things you can delegate to your team, or a new person you recruit to free up your time.

Then replace these tasks with ones relevant to strategy, vision, leadership and decisions. You’ll have made a massive step towards being a true CEO.
