Stop sacrificing friends to grow your business

Don't make the same mistakes I did....

Do you have to sacrifice friends or family to scale a business?

I used to think so.

I worked 6 days a week in the first few years of scaling GrowFactor.

When I had kids I woke up at 4am to get 3 hours in before they woke up.

I felt this immense guilt when not working and with my family AND guilt when working and not with my family.

Friends?

They didn't even come into it. I don't speak to any of my school friends, college friends or KPMG London friends.

I couldn't balance dedicating time to socialise for myself with work and family.

Don't make the same mistake I did.

Yes if you want to fulfil your potential you will have to work hard BUT time each week with your friends, away from your partner or family is PRODUCTIVE.

It recharges you, so you can come back with fresh idea, more energy and joy.

Scaling a Company doesn't have to be lonely or a punishment, enjoy the journey and recognise your own time as productive time spent.

Some people already do this...good for you...this post is for those like me that are currently sacrificing their friends through some misguided feeling of guilt.

If this is you, drop a voicenote or make a call to a friend today and arrange a date :)
